We have been busy the last couple of days. We teamed up with a couple from Texas that works with a ministry called Living Water. They go to different villages and put in water wells. We got to see how they did this. The hole had already been dug and had been sitting there for a while. They started by putting about 100 feet of pipes down this hole. Then they put the pump down with some more pipes connected to it, tied it off and finished putting the pump handle and spout on it. After pumping the handle a few times clear, clean water started coming out. This village lives near a river bed and they would dig to get a little bit of water. The water they were getting was the same water that people took baths, animals drank, and where they would go to the bathroom. Also they water was extremely muddy. I think that it is amazing how something that took two hours to put in can completely change a village for years to come. It was an amazing sight. After we were done they had a pastor pray over the pump and they passed out Bibles. As a thank you to the Americans they gave them a goat and a chicken.
